We’re Talking Co-Ords And Co-Ords Only This Summer

Published

When it comes to summer dressing, it often seems as if your styling options are limited to denim shorts and a white T-shirt. However, this year has seen the rise of the summer co-ord. Easy to wear, extra easy to style and comfortable enough to get you through the hottest of days, these matching separates are having their moment at the top.

While suits do technically count as co-ords, what we are talking about here is the looser kind – the ones made for sunny days spent in the park. Championed by brands such as Peachy Den, Staud and House of Sunny, matching separates are everywhere, and for good reason. Removing the morning “I don’t know what to wear” stress, these sets are an easy throw-on-and-go outfit, often best suited to chunky sandals or trainers. Of course, their standout feature is how comfortable they are – after a year of sitting inside, the general collective consensus for clothes seems to be the comfier the better, and we couldn’t agree more!

What’s exciting is that co-ords are available in a number of styles: there’s the classic oversized shirt and shorts set, as well as sets from Zimmermann and Reformation for example, which include skirts and others including tops more suited to going out. They’re available in different prints and colours too – if you’re feeling bold, why not opt for a 70’s inspired swirl? Or perhaps you want a timeless floral set that you can return to year after year. Whatever it is you’re looking for, we’re sure there’ll be a co-ord for you.
