There’s A New Skincare Brand On The UK Block (And It’s Clean & Sustainable!)

Published

Eko Botanicals is launching in the UK, and we couldn’t be more excited! What’s not to love about clean, sustainable products for the more mature skin type? Rooted in traditional African and British skincare practices and botanical wisdom, this natural brand is set to deliver the ultimate radiance that we all deserve.

Created by skincare expert Apinke Efiong, Eko Botanicals was made following her struggle to find natural skincare that suited her maturing and darker skin tone. Spending two years in research and development, the brand uses ancient skincare rituals combined with modern natural science to create a range that cleanses, nourishes, revitalises and conditions.

All ingredients present in the products are sustainably sourced and organic where possible from African and British farms; including papaya, tamanu, moringa and Kalahari melon – vitamins and omega fatty acids that your skin will love you for. The trio of products in this collection are designed to work in unison to help tackle a wide range of skin concerns including fine lines and wrinkles, hyperpigmentation, dehydration, enlarged pores and acne. What’s more, the packaging is made from recyclable and biodegradable materials with the addition of violet glass which preserves the potency of the ingredients, extending their efficacy. We are already in love!

Each product in the collection has been named after great African warrior Queens whose ancient beauty practices have been admired and passed down through the ages. So, without further ado, let us give you the rundown on the collection. The Amina Ritual Cleansing Oil, named after the 16th century Nigerian Queen of Zaria, Amina, works to remove dirt, makeup, sun cream and impurities without stripping the skin or irritating eyes.

This oil is packed with seeds and oils that are rich in antioxidants to leave the skin feeling soft, clean and revitalised. Simply press 3-4 pumps into the palm of your hands, inhale, and work onto the face in gentle circular motions. Remove with a hot cloth and use morning and night to reap the full benefits.

Named after ancient Egyptian Queen Nefertiti, mother of King Tut, the brand’s serum contains over 30 carefully selected, powerful botanical extracts and plant oils. These all help accelerate the skin’s renewal process, increase hydration, minimise fine lines, manage hyperpigmentation, reduce enlarged pores and stimulate collagen production – is there anything this serum doesn’t do? Use morning and night by pressing 1-2 pumps into your palm and applying to cleansed skin.

The final addition to the collection is the Makeda Oil, named after the Queen of Sheba. This is a formula for all skin types which provides deep hydration, plumpness and radiance by utilising over 22 potent plant oils. To use, dispense 1-2 drops into the palm of your hands and work onto the face and neck using the press and push method, both morning and evening. With this trio, our skincare game is set to level up!

Eko Botanicals’ products are not only beneficial to the skin, but also to the mind, body and spirit all the while positively impacting the planet by being vegan, cruelty-free and eco-conscious. We don’t know about you but we’re already adding the collection to our shopping carts!
