The Staple All-In-One Outfit That You Need In Your Wardrobe

Published

When you want a one-and-done kind of outfit but feel like a dress is too, well, dressy, where do you turn? To jumpsuits, of course!

Looking at the spring fashion collections, it seems as if the comfy clothes that we have been drawn towards during the pandemic still have a hold over us. Designers have responded to our quest for comfort and ease with a slew of jumpsuits that look good and more importantly, feel good. From Max Mara and Stella McCartney to Bottega Veneta and smaller brands such as April and Alex and Isabel Manns, jumpsuits have proven their staying power.

What’s so exciting about jumpsuits is that they come in a variety of shapes and styles. From ’70s denim looks to looser utilitarian fits, there is something out there for everyone and every occasion. If you want a more fitted look, opt for jumpsuits in heavier materials such as denim or leather. These pieces often feature strong shoulders and a belt to cinch in the waist, creating a flawless silhouette on all body shapes. Whilst these styles are great for spring, the looser cotton or linen styles will see you all the way through to the heights of summer.

As far as styling is concerned, you can have so much fun with jumpsuits. Whilst their main selling point is the fact that they are a whole outfit in one item, that doesn’t mean you can’t experiment by layering t-shirts (or roll necks come autumn) under your jumpsuit. This allows you to style it in different ways without hiding it entirely underneath a jacket or jumper. Dress it up by pairing your jumpsuit with heels and a small bag, or choose sandals and a big straw bag for summer beach days. Alternatively, throw it on with your favourite trainers and you’ll be good to go absolutely anywhere. Oh, and don’t forget, most jumpsuits have pockets! Is there anything they can’t do?
