Standing Strong for Survivors on Denim Dayπβπ

Today, we join people worldwide in recognising Denim Day, a powerful initiative in support of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAPM). At FROW, we are proud to stand in solidarity with survivors and raise our voices against sexual violence. This is a day to challenge harmful misconceptions, support victims, and contribute to the ongoing fight for justice.
PAIGE is once again leading the charge by donating 20% of its e-commerce and retail sales, including in the UK, to the UCLA Rape Treatment Center (RTC), an organisation that provides crucial support to survivors of sexual assault. As Chairwoman of the Board, Paigeβs involvement in this initiative reflects her unwavering commitment to creating change and supporting those in need.
Denim Day was born out of a shocking injustice in Italy in 1999, when the Italian Supreme Court overturned a rape conviction because the victim was wearing tight jeans. The reasoning? The justices claimed that she must have helped her attacker remove the jeans, implying consent. This ruling sparked outrage, leading women in the Italian Parliament to wear jeans to work in solidarity with the victim. What started as a small act of protest has since become a global movement, advocating for survivors and challenging harmful stereotypes around consent and sexual violence.
Why Denim Day Matters
Wearing denim on Denim Day is more than just a fashion statementβitβs an active protest against the myths that perpetuate sexual violence. By choosing to wear jeans today, we show that we believe survivors, that consent is clear, and that the blame should never fall on the victim. Itβs a call to end rape culture and support those who have been affected by sexual assault.
At FROW, we believe in empowering women and creating a space where support, solidarity, and respect are at the forefront. This is why we are proud to support the UCLA Rape Treatment Center, which has been providing free, state-of-the-art treatment to survivors of sexual violence since 1974. The RTC offers emergency medical care, counselling, and long-term support for victims and their families, helping them heal from trauma and regain control over their lives.
What You Can Do
Joining Denim Day is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact. By wearing denim today, youβre not only showing solidarity with survivors, but youβre also helping to raise awareness about the work being done to end sexual violence. Whether youβre shopping at PAIGE, wearing your favourite jeans, or simply educating others about the cause, your involvement matters. Every step we take together makes a difference.

As we mark Denim Day today, letβs remember that weβre part of a global movement, a movement that is committed to supporting survivors, challenging harmful myths, and working towards a world where sexual violence is no longer tolerated.
