New Balance and District Vision Reinvent the Approach Fashion Collaborations Should be Taking to Mental Health Awareness

Athletic brand New Balance and holistic athlete wellness company District Vision have set out on a mission to redefine what fashion collaborations can accomplish by providing vital tools alongside their products that offer long-term mental health benefits for their customers.

The brands have collaborated to launch a collection of technical apparel and footwear accompanied by a series of $10 courses, that aim to increase mental health awareness through running. The courses offer opportunities for runners to explore their minds and will feature helpful tips from Team New Balance athletes, Emily Sisson and Brenda Martinez, on how they get over the mental hurdles they face as sportswomen.

Alongside the New Balance athletes, the campaign will also feature New Balance ambassador, rapper, actor and mental health awareness advocate, GaTa, who will be discussing how taking up running has shaped his mental wellbeing for the better.

District Vision and New Balance share the sentiment that whilst function and performance is a key element of athleticism, mental health and wellbeing are at their core, especially with regards to intense physical exercises like running. District Vision co-founder, Tom Daly, discussed the collection and claimed it was one which: “Goes beyond just product… consumers will gain a deeper understanding of what it truly means to be a ‘mindful athlete'”.

The campaign is a testament to the brands’ commitment to providing their consumers with the vital tools they need to better themselves holistically. The products are made up of technical design, organic hand-drawn designs from renowned artist Filip Pagowski, and aesthetics that emanate the mindfulness the collaboration seeks to support and achieve.

The collection consists of the FuelCell RC Elite V2 running shoe and a range of technical apparel pieces such as the Impact Run Light pack jacket, 3″ Impact Run short, Q Speed 9″ half tight and much more!

With prices ranging from $55 USD to $220 USD, the collection will be launched globally on newbalance.com.
