Jacquemus Redefine Summer With Fashionably Elevated Sportswear As They Partner With Nike

Published

This summer is set to be like no other as luxury fashion brand Jacquemus partners up with global sportswear company Nike. Combining forces to create their new “Runway To Sport” collection, the duo are working to reinterpret athletic women’s sportswear in a minimal way.

Enjoying sports’ fluid relationship with style, the founder of the eponymous label, Simon Porte Jacquemus aims to invigorate the celebration of the multidimensionality of contemporary athletes. Supported by Nike’s rich heritage, together the brands imagine a world where outdoor adventures and court sports meet to form a new fusion aesthetic.

Inspired by Nike’s campaigns from the ’90s and their vintage ACG (All Conditions Gear) pieces, Jacquemus discusses the upcoming collection: “Having this imagery in mind, we designed women’s athletic wear with sensuous details and neutral colours, along with my own interpretation of the Humara – my favourite Nike shoe. It was important for the collection to be accessible, for all bodies, and to be a natural blend of Jacquemus style and Nike performance.”

Later this summer, we will be treated to further apparel and footwear collections that interweave a variety of iconic Nike designs, with unisex footwear and accessories to invite sport-centred style into everyday life. Speaking on the integral 50/50 partnership, Jarrett Reynolds, Nike’s VP of Catalyst Apparel Design said: “I-Fit fabric, and considered footwear like the Humara, to create a nexus of sport and style that could only be done through the shared lens of Nike x Jacquemus.”

Collaboration at Nike, and with partners like Jacquemus, allows us to expand the culture of sport and redefine it for the next generation.

This season we are expected to see two iconic brands from the worlds of fashion and sport merge, redefining “ready-to-wear” summer collections to mean comfortable anywhere, anytime.

Well, it’s time to set your alarms as this highly-anticipated collaboration drops on June 28th exclusively on the Jacquemus website! But don’t worry, the collection will also be available globally across Nike retail beginning in Summer 2022.
