Ed Sheeran Launches Conscious Clothing Collection With Lucy & Yak Inspired By His Latest Album

Published

It’s no time to be getting into Bad Habits but independent clothing brand Lucy & Yak have just announced their latest collection with none other than singer-songwriter, Ed Sheeran – and let us tell you, it’s far from giving us Shivers!

Teaming up to design an exclusive capsule of organic items, inspired by the artwork from his latest album ‘=’, the collection highlights the brand’s signature dungarees (loved by the singer himself), hoodie, tee and zero-waste bucket hat. Preparing to embark on the UK leg of his sell-out Mathematics tour, Sheeran has helped create the capsule for fans of both Ed and Lucy & Yak: ‘Sheerios’ and ‘Yakkers’.

Bringing together his love for his fans, the label’s iconic designs and sustainability-focused approach, the limited edition collection features butterfly prints and designs arriving in a neutral colour palette of ecru and black. With the ability to wear from season to season, unisex pieces can be sported to this summer’s array of festivals and worn into autumn and winter’s cosy comfort attire.

Sticking to their company’s spirit, the garments within the collection are joining Lucy & Yak’s other environmentally-conscious pieces after all being made fairly from organic cotton – whilst the Travis Bucket Hat has been created entirely from deadstock fabrics (How cool?). These initiatives work towards a fully circular economy in order to tackle the fashion industry’s growing impact on the environment.

The butterfly used in Ed’s album artwork holds a really special meaning to him, and so we’re honoured to be able to bring this to life as part of such a special collection of Yaks – particularly as we know that Ed shares our passion for doing better for the environment.

Lucy Greenwood, Co-Founder of Lucy & Yak

When first hearing of the collaboration with Ed Sheeran, Elspeth Mills, Lead Print Designer at Lucy & Yak, described her excitement to bring his vision to life with the brand’s own distinct style: “Drawing on the artwork from Ed’s Equals album, I blended this with my own drawings to create something unique but that also appealed to both Sheerios and Yakkers alike,” She continued: “The butterfly is central to Ed’s artwork as it reflects his growth over the years, so we immediately knew that we wanted to make this central to the theme of the collection –  a symbol that represents something people can relate to everywhere.”
