Kate Spade New York hosted its third annual Global Summit on Women's Mental Health in New York City, marking a significant milestone in the brand's ongoing commitment to addressing the mental health crisis affecting women and girls worldwide. The summit brought together the crème de la crème of thought leaders, advocates, and industry professionals for a day filled with insightful discussions and impactful initiatives.

This year's summit emphasised the importance of community-led, culturally competent mental health solutions. Attendees engaged in discussions that recognised the diverse needs of women across various cultures and communities, highlighting the necessity of tailored approaches to mental health care.

Launch of the Global Fund for Women's Mental Health

A major highlight of the summit was the introduction of Kate Spade New York's Global Fund for Women's Mental Health. This initiative aims to invest in mental health solutions for women worldwide, showcasing the brand's dedication to making a tangible impact in this critical area. The Fund will focus on providing greater access to community-led, culturally competent mental health solutions for women at every stage of their lives, initially supporting regions across North America, the United Kingdom, Japan, and Australia.

The summit featured notable speakers including Taraji P. Henson, Marsai Martin, Simone Biles and Sofia Wiley. Panel topics covered crucial areas such as Mental Health and the Fashion Industry, Women and Girls' Mental Health: For Gen Z by Gen Z, and Cultivating Joy and Your Sister Circle.

Winter 2024 Campaign Launch

In conjunction with the summit, Kate Spade New York unveiled its Winter 2024 campaign on 3 September, which beautifully intertwined fashion with the brand's commitment to women's empowerment and mental health.

The Winter 2024 campaign showcased an impressive lineup of actresses, including Taraji P. Henson, Nicola Coughlan, and Marsai Martin. These influential figures not only modelled the latest collection but also lent their voices to the important cause of women's mental health.

The Winter 2024 collection celebrated Kate Spade's brand DNA by embracing vivid colours and graphic patterns, featuring bold hues and striking designs that embody the spirit of joy and confidence. The line offered a modern take on suiting, balancing sophistication with comfort, while the standout feature was the relaunch of the Spade Flower Jacquard collection. This collection showcased bags made from a unique geometric floral pattern inspired by the brand's most iconic identifier, the spade. In collaboration with the world-renowned Italian luxury textile mill Limonta, Kate Spade New York created a new luxe jacquard fabrication that offers more depth and dimension than ever before.

Brand's Commitment to Mental Health

The brand isn't just talking the talk; it has invested over $31 million in women's mental health initiatives globally, establishing itself as one of the world's largest corporate funders in this area. The brand's approach combines fashion with purpose, using its platform to advocate for mental health as a fundamental right for all women.

To further highlight this commitment, Kate Spade New York premiered a short film featuring Henson, Coughlan, and Martin, introducing the Global Fund and exploring the intersection between joy and mental health through the perspectives of each woman. These queens brought the cause to life with their star power!

Through events like the Global Summit and campaigns like Winter 2024, Kate Spade New York continues to inspire and empower women, encouraging them to embrace joy and prioritise their mental well-being. As Taraji P. Henson aptly stated, "Everything Kate Spade does and is about is literally what I'm about under my brand: advocating for women, and in doing so, finding your joy and keeping that."
