The 2025 Ivor Novello Awards are shaping up to be an exciting event, with Charli XCX, RAYE, Lola Young, and Dua Lipa leading the nominations as the ceremony celebrates its 70th year. Charli XCX has a nomination for Best Album for her hit BRAT, following her recent BRIT Award win, while RAYE and Lola Young also dominate the list in multiple categories. With such a strong lineup, this year’s ceremony promises to be a memorable one for both artists and fans alike.
In other news, next week is all about awareness and empowerment. It’s Black Maternal Health UK Awareness Week, a time to spotlight and support this crucial cause. This campaign is deeply important, not just for the healthcare community but for all of us, as it highlights the stark disparities in maternal health outcomes for Black women. FROW stands in solidarity with the ongoing efforts to amplify these voices and fight for better healthcare services and outcomes for Black mothers. Let’s take this time to raise awareness, share knowledge, and continue to support this life-saving cause. 👸🏽💓

Big things are happening over at Prof. Jimmy Choo’s JCA London Fashion Academy; they’ve just announced the theme for this year’s graduate fashion show, and it’s giving major future of fashion energy. The theme? ‘REVELATION.’ On June 9th, 27 super-talented graduates from the BA Fashion Design, Branding & Entrepreneurship, and Fashion Design & Accessories courses will each debut their very own six-piece capsule collections, showing off months of work, wild creativity, and serious style at a yet-to-be-revealed London venue. The show’s all about spotlighting bold ideas, individuality, and storytelling, and it’s more than just a runway moment. It's happening in partnership with the historic Haberdashers’ Company, who share JCA’s belief in doing things differently and empowering students to carve their own path.

Eleni Drake, the British/Greek singer-songwriter, kicks off 2025 with the release of her brand new single, A Wonder Day. This marks her first release of the year and continues to showcase her unique sound. Produced by Eleni herself alongside Frank Colucci (known for his work with Ashnikko and Ethel Cain), the track combines soft guitar strums with rich layers of lapsteel, violin, trumpet, and banjo, creating a beautifully haunting atmosphere.
