Calling all doers and adventurers, those who work hard, live with passion, act boldly, and believe in their potential to move the world forward; this one’s for you. After years of Timberland‘s extensive campaigns, today the outdoor and work inspired brand enters a new era as they launch Built for the Bold.
With a global network of changemakers helping to redefine what it means to be bold, the new campaign challenges the idea that boldness is only for those who are fearless, loud and strong but acknowledges it can also mean moments of humility, creativity and quiet perseverance. Fusing the aspects at the very heart of the brand, work, the outdoors and lifestyle, this drive pushes to give a voice to a diverse lineup of emerging and established changemakers. Showcasing familiar faces such as songwriter and poet Arlo Parks, rapper and Harvard guest lecturer IDK, artist and director Shugga, ceramist Shino Takeda and many more; the talent is united by how they embrace their inner bold and unapologetically work to make the world progress.
If that doesn’t sound good enough already, the campaign is centred by an anthem film narrated by the queen of hip hop should, Mary J Blige, summarising what it means to be bold, ‘I’ve loved Timberland from the time I was a girl – and I really embrace the message of this campaign, that boldness lives in all of us.’

Timberland’s Built for the Bold campaign also places a spotlight on 3 standout changemakers from Paris, Milan and Berlin, highlighting the positive impact of the work they do. Paris’ Jihene Grae, a multidisciplinary artist, who uses her work to support women in the underground scene and promoting club culture in the dance world and professional portrait photographer Jon Bronxl, based in Milan, who works to support BI-POC creatives both in front and behind the camera. Whilst Adam Cotorceanu, located in Berlin, founded Dirty Roots as a way to make plants accessible to all so everyone can benefit from the physical and mental health benefits of a green home.
Want to unleash your bold and get involved? Well listen up London, Timberland will be hosting a series of events including an open mic night in Shorditch, a variety of workshops including product customisation, street art and planting, and even a city hike!
