‘I am what I am’ : Mango champions every women

As the fashionistas digest the trends of New York, London, Milan and Paris, Mango launches a new collection with the star of the runway, Ashley Graham. ‘Violeta‘ is for every woman, with an ‘I am what I am‘ ethos at the heart of it.  This is a plus size collection with a difference. FROW takes a closer look. 

There is no denying that plus size fashion has changed for the better. From the physical clothes to the attitude that society has towards it, plus size collections now are trend-setting and intelligent. Driven by style and cut, not by the desire to hide and shame, plus size fashion is now a far cry from the tent-like clothes of days gone by. 

Mango’s ‘Violeta’ collection is the embodiment of said amelioration. Combining beautifully tailored clothes with rich, luxurious materials, it is a celebration of the female form in all of its glory.

Fronted by the supermodel, Ashley Graham, the collection symbolises society’s thirst for stylish plus size fashion with attitude at the core of it.

Moving from hardworking suits and office-ready winter coats to sexier, more fitted dresses, it’s a collection that works to tick all of the sartorial boxes of the season ahead. 

Watch out for some serious trends. Athleisure, tartan prints and casual shapes sit alongside corduroy trousers and velvet boots, proving that ‘of the moment’ fashion is achievable in every shape and size when good design is the driving force.
