GUESS Announces New Collection With J Balvin Inspired By The Artist’s Documentary

We’re not left with any second guesses as American clothing retailer, GUESS Originals announce the return of their collaboration with global music superstar (and fashion icon, may we add!) J Balvin. Inspired by the artist’s documentary “The Boy from Medellin”, the collection fuses the GUESS DNA of iconic graphics and elevated fabrics, with Balvin’s journey beyond fame with his mental health.

The Amor collection sees imprints of the universal message “amor y paz” or “peace and love” throughout, to revive happiness and positivity. The men’s offering features a mixture of uplifting hues in vibrant and pastel shades, and playful expressive graphics, the brand also champions core pieces such as a denim trucker jacket and carpenter pants enhanced with vibrant patterns.

Discussing the duo’s collaborative history, Balvin notes, “We’ve been collaborating for a couple of years now. The chemistry is great. We have more than a business partnership, it’s a friendship – it’s like my family working with Nicolai and GUESS. This newest collab is all about peace and love – that’s what we need right now.”

Our partnership with Jose continues to give fans a deeper connection to what he cares about while honouring GUESS’s heritage of provoking a sense of celebration. The collection features a universal design language rooted in bright colours, peace and love – especially self-love. - Nicolai Marciano, Director of Brand Partnerships for GUESS Originals

Sticking to the theme, the women’s line sees an array of easy-to-wear graphic shirts, coordinating swimsuits and tops – let’s not forget the matching sets! Setting the tone for summer, the range introduces crochet tops and dresses, as well as bright-coloured accessories that lend to the laid-back, vibrant lifestyle of both GUESS Originals and J Balvin.

Pushing the importance of mental health for all, the collection boasts a plentiful 47 pieces, ranging from £25 to £160 for a variety of men’s, women’s and select children’s styles.

The best news yet? The collection is available to purchase now online and in select GUESS stores!
