Celebrity Makeup Artist Teaches Us How To Achieve The Perfect Summer Glow

As we reach the height of the Summer months, the days become longer, the nights brighter and the temperatures warmer, we often find ourselves desperate for the ultimate natural summer glow that we can count on to carry us late into the evening. With the aim of a glowing complexion that feels both hydrated and healthy whilst illuminating with bright colour and radiance, makeup artist to the stars Huda Okuonhagheu shares her expert beauty tips on how she achieves her sultry summer look.

First things first (and perhaps the most important part of the whole beauty process) is prepping a healthy, hydrated and moisturised skin complexion that forms the base for your effortlessly glowing face. Before applying your makeup, wash, exfoliate, moisturise and prime your skin.

Powder Products

Applying powder products all over the face can often feel the skin looking lifeless and dull and often unflattering in direct sunlight. Taking a powder product and applying it to only the middle of the face helps to take the shine away and draw attention to your central features. Top tip: Make sure to look out for powders that contain hyaluronic acid for a non-drying finish to your face!

Light Coverage Foundations and Cream Bronzers

For a natural glow, avoid heavy products and instead select lighter coverage foundation, bases or tinted moisturisers in one or two shades warmer than your natural winter colour. To add dimension, colour and sculpture to the face, apply a cream bronzer in a darker shade to your cheeks, nose and temple areas where your skin would naturally tan more.

Cream Blush

Naturally rose-tinted cheeks have certainly become a trend for this Summer season and pink cream blushes are the perfect product to achieve this youthful look. When applying cream blush, use a damp rounded makeup sponge and press the product on the apples of your cheeks and extend it towards the cheekbones to lift the face.
