Become One with Nature with the New North Face x Naomi Otsu Collection

Published

Athletic-wear brand The North Face has joined forces with graphic designer Naomi Otsu to create an empowering collection focused on elevating women in the outdoors.

Inspired by the love of adventure and exploration, the new collection boasts exclusive designs that aim to lift women up and encourage them to embrace the outdoors and discover the true beauty of nature.

The North Face is tapping into its vintage roots with this collection and is bringing back a capsule piece from 1996, their Retro Nuptse Jacket, and reimagining the piece by printing Otsu’s unique pattern that encapsulated the scintillating thrill of Mother Nature’s wilderness all over it. Highlights also sees the eclectic design printed on popular North Face products such as running shorts, sweatshirts, puffer jackets and tracksuit bottoms.

I love seeing patterns in nature… I like to think that flowers and plants have their own personalities, like all of us.

Naomi Otsu, Graphic Designer

The pattern boasts a bold array of plant life including red mushrooms, yellow flowers, pink palm leaves and blue baby’s breadth, as well as featuring the occasional butterfly and bear! Otsu, when discussing the inspiration behind the brightly coloured botanical print, suggested there’s more to it than initially meets the eye, saying; “Similar to my design if you look closely [at nature] you might find a surprise” hidden within the vibrant design… challenge accepted.

The Otsu collection is available to purchase now on The North Face website and is also available in select stores.
